This state-of-the-art ScanCook microwave vending system has the potential to change the way we vend hot food, especially pre-packaged meals.

This microwave cooking system is very easy to use and because of its scan start error free cooking system, undercooked food is now a thing of the past.

The consumer simply buys the pre-packed meal from the vending cabinet, scans the packet with the barcode reader, places the food packet into the microwave cavity, closes the door and press start. The easy to follow display guides the consumer through this operating process so no programming or guesswork by the consumer is necessary. The scanner reads information from the barcode such as how long the meal should be cooked for and the power the meal should be cooked at.

The ScanCook system also has an option to store the names of and the amount of meals it has cooked, this information can then be downloaded or read from the display to control stock replenishment.

This "so-simple" microwave cooking system is both practical and affordable with the potential to operate anywhere that customers require, providing a safe and easy to use 24 hour hot food service.

Barcode Scanner Activation

How it works:

The system works in the following way.

The customer views the product inside the Easy 5000 food vending chiller unit.

Then purchases the food required.

Remove the food container from the chiller unit.

On the top surface of the food container there is a bar-code that holds the relevant information for cooking time and sell by date.

The barcode is then scanned by placing the food container inside a receptacle where the scanner is housed.

Once the bar-code has been read the display on the microwave oven will say "Place food in Microwave"

The customer will open the microwave oven door and place the food container inside and close the door. Once this has been done the display on the microwave oven will say "Press Start". The microwave oven will start cooking the food.

If during the cooking process the door is opened, a 30 second count down timer will be activated. If the timer is allowed to count down to zero then that food will not be allowed to be re-cooked as the bar-code will be destroyed due to the effect of the microwaves on the material used to produce the label.

Once the food has been cooked the display will state "Please remove food".

The Barcode System

The microwave vending system uses bar-code technology to tell the microwave oven how long to cook the food and if the food is out of date then the microwave will not cook it.

We will work with your nominated pre-packed food supplier to enable them to correctly bar code the meals required. They will need to establish the correct cooking time by purchasing a standard version of our 1000 watt or 1800 watt Microwave oven depending on the power required.

All bar-codes will require to be placed on the food container during food manufacture.
